December 2010 - Upchurch River Valley

Another great Christmas fun day at Upchurch River Valley. We had a great cooked breakfast, a cold but mainly dry golf day and a super Christmas dinner.Brilliant! Well done to Martin Whelan who won the overall fun day competition, and also to Jim Pullum who won the par 3 competition. Luckily for Martin and Jim there are no handicap cuts for these competitions.

Bert also announced the winners of the stableford and stroke play averages for 2010. They are:
Stableford A division winner: Lubo Matis    
Stableford B division winner: Robbie Burns
Stroke play A division winner: Bert Styles
Stroke play B division winner: Tony Middleditch

Lastly the overall points winners for 2010 are:
A division: Nick Carter (75)
B division:Tony Middleditch (72)

November 2010 - High Elms

Well done to Tom Hastie Snr for winning the A Division trophy at the November meeting at High Elms and also to Jim Pullum for winning the B Division trophy. It was a bit damp for a few of the holes but luckily the rain did not last too long!

October 2010 - Chelsfield Lakes

Congratulations to Nick Isom for winning the A Division trophy at the October meeting and to Rob Burns who won the B Division trophy.

Chelsfield Lakes also hosted the annual A Division versus the B Division competition which I understand was won by the A Division team by 6 points to 3. Well done to all those who played.

October proved to be another high scoring meeting, with 12 members playing better than their handicaps, so I have been busy cutting handicaps again - such joy!

Lastly, well done to Mick Pressland in winning the 2010 knock out competition, and also to John Kitchingham for reaching the final.

September 2010 - Poult Wood

Mick Taylor and Bob Evans won the September monthly competition for the A and B divisions at Poult Wood. Well done to you both. There were a number of good scores this month so I have been in my element wielding my handicap cutting sabre.

John Kitchingham and Mick Pressland both won through to the final of the 2010 Knockout Competition, beating Rob Moloney and Bert Styles. Good luck in the final guys and let the best man win!

News from our August meeting:

Well done to Nick Carter and Rob Burns in winning the August 2010 monthly competition in the A division and B division respectively.

The other news worthy of reporting here is the endeavours of the Riley family at the August competition. First of all congratulations to Lin on winning the guest prize with a terrific score of 41 points (I feel a handicap cut coming!). On the other hand ....... Cliff ...... Oh dear! ..... The Stick Man.
