Captain's Day - Maylands Golf Club - Tuesday 28 June 2016

We all had a great day at Derek Howe's 'Captains Day' today. Thanks Derek for putting up the prizes and organising the day. The rain held off for most groups and, in my opinion, the course was in a really good condition.

The main prize for the day went to Darren O'Donnell who won the 'Captains Shield' with an excellent score of 37 points. Dave Reid scored 35 points to take second place, and Dave Payne  came third with 33 points. 

Derek announced that there was now a new trophy - The Jim Pullum Trophy - and each year the Captain of the Society would decide a suitable challenge and award the trophy on that basis. This year Derek has decided that the trophy would be presented to the member with the highest score at Captain's Day who had not won in the previous two years. 

Well done to Dave Payne for winning the The Jim Pullum Trophy for 2016.

Well done to all the prize winners, and thanks again to Derek.

June 2016 - Upchurch River Valley

I hope you all had a great day on Tuesday at Upchurch. Nick and I were playing at Wimereux in France, playing in a howling wind, and unfortunately could not be with you!

Well done to Mick Pressland for winning the A Division with a great score of 34 points, and well done to Phil Swain for winning the B Division with a score of 37 points - excellent scores guys!

The next round of the knockout was drawn and you will find the draw on the knockout tab of this site! All games to be played before or on the next meeting at Chelsfield Lakes on 12th July!
